The Blessed Gerhard Nursing and Hospice Centre receives beds from the USA. Brendon Beaumont, Sebastian Hofmann, Nkosinathi Dlamini (in the truck), Fr Gerhard and some helpers unloading the beds in front of the Care and Hospice Centre in Mandeni.
Our member Michael Perigo, who lives in the United States of America and works in a hospital, saw the opportunity to send us a number of used hospital beds for our Blessed Gerhard Nursing and Hospice Centre.
Mr Perigo arranged the transport of the beds to New York, from where the Catholic Medical Mission Board paid for the onward transport of the container of beds to Durban in South Africa. The South African Customs Service also kindly allowed us to import the beds without any duties or fees.
We sincerely thank Mr. Perigo, the hospital and the Catholic Medical Mission Board for the donation, the hard work and the generosity with which you sent us the beds!
